Hand-Knotted Carpet
Fadhl, meaning "grace," is Bayt Ara's most ambitious weaving to date — a large-format carpet whose central medallion and floral border were adapted from a historic pattern and reworked for this piece. In Islamic art, Persian and Mughal carpets have long captured paradise through intricate floral design — a visual reflection of divine grace. Fadhl revives that heritage, handcrafted by generational artisans in the historic village of Baruila, Punjab. Born to be hung as a living tapestry rather than walked upon, it carries a sacred Qur'anic verse of divine favor, ultimate bounty, and spiritual joy, rendered in serene Arabic calligraphy.
