Toranj takes its form from the central medallion of classical Persian manuscript illumination and carpet design — the ornamental heart around which an entire composition traditionally unfolds. Here, that medallion is fractured and reframed: a fragment of genuine, vintage hand-knotted Persian carpet is set within a hand-cut architectural lattice, its floral border and palmette isolated against patinated metalwork.
