Boteh in Shadow takes its name from the teardrop motif at the heart of Persian and Mughal art — traditionally read as a cypress bent in the wind, a flowering spray, or a flame. Where Toranj holds its symmetry, Boteh moves: its curve pulls the eye upward in a single sweeping gesture, split down its length between a fragment of hand-knotted vintage wool and an open, cut-metal frame.
